The London Stock Exchange beat forecasts today when it posted adjusted earnings per share (EPS) of 74.2 pence and revenue of £671.4 million for 2008, both up from the previous year.
Analysts forecast on average EPS of 70.2 pence and revenue of £659.9 million, according to Reuters Estimates.
The bourse said trading levels had shown some signs of improvement since the start of the financial year.
“Although market conditions are expected to remain testing, the group is well-placed for the future,” the LSE said in a statement.
