Arsenal 2 Ipswich 0
Freddie Ljungberg fired Arsenal back to the top of the premier league today, the dynamic Swedish midfielder scoring both goals in a 2-0 home win over Ipswich Town.
Ljungberg finally broke through a determined Ipswich rearguard after 68 minutes just when Arsenal were beginning to get nervous, turning on the edge of the box to shoot low into the net after hitting the bar two minutes earlier.
The Swede bundled in the second 10 minutes later to move Arsenal back to top spot on 75 points from 34 games. Liverpool are second on 74 from 35, with Manchester United third on 73 from 35.
Ipswich remained five points adrift of safety and look doomed, but they will wonder what might have been had midfielder Martijn Reuser hit the target instead of the post with a free header five minutes before the break.
