Mayo have ended Limerick’s championship run, beating the Shannonsiders by a single point in this evening’s All Ireland football Qualifier at Dr Hyde Park in Roscommon.
Limerick held the lead at half-time, a Jason Stokes goal separating the sides.
But, having taken the scalps of both Offaly and Cavan en route to this meeting with Mayo, Limerick finally ran out of steam in the second period.

As the match progressed, Mayo gradually edged in front, holding Limerick scoreless for long periods, and once in front, never relinquished their advantage.
