Brian Lara has been airlifted to hospital after a collision with Marvan Atapattu in the one-day triangular series game between the West Indies and Sri Lanka in Kandy.
Lara had made 24 from just 29 balls before the accident took place.
The Trinidadian is believed to have dislocated his elbow when colliding with Atapattu attempting a quick single from the non-striker's end.
He collapsed to the floor before leaving the field on a stretcher and was then transferred to the hospital in the capital Colombo.
