Mr John Stalker, Greater Manchester's former deputy police chief, will be the top security expert giving evidence one behalf of fans injured at the Lansdowne Road soccer riot two years ago.
While a large number of fans are suing the Football Association of Ireland, the English FA, Ireland and the Garda Commissioner for up to £30,000 damages each, it is expected that only one trial will proceed when the hearings open at Green Street Courthouse in Dublin next Tuesday.
This Circuit Civil Court action will be used to determine the question of liability and could, barring appeal, be used, to settle a number of other actions.
It is expected the case could last for up to two weeks. The court has already been told the English FA will dispute the findings of the Finlay Inquiry into the riots at the Ireland England friendly international on February 15th, 1995.
