Jakarta - At least 18 people were killed and 23 are missing and feared dead after a landslide buried villagers on the Indonesian island of Bali yesterday, police said.

Lieut Col Komaruddin, police chief of Gianyar district, said that around 50 people had been trying to clear an irrigation channel in a rice terrace when the landslide struck.
