Atlanta - The family of the Rev Martin Luther King has asked a federal appeals court to reverse a lower court's decision that the civil rights leader's "I Have a Dream" speech belongs to the public.

Lawyers representing Mrs Coretta Scott King and his four children, Martin III, Dexter, Yolanda and Bernice, asked the 11th US Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta to reverse a lower court's ruling issued last year.
