A hundred stands were taken in the first local showcase of Kerry’s tourist trade and cultural events in Killarney yesterday.

Timed to come just ahead of the peak summer months, the exhibition was officially opened by Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht Jimmy Deenihan.

Because of the royal visit, “now more than ever the focus of the world media ” was on Ireland, Mr Deenihan said.

Declan Murphy of South West Tourism said they had a particular interest in networking.
