The jury has begun deliberating in the Central Criminal Court trial of a man accused of the murder of Adel Essalhi in Tyrrelstown, west Dublin, last year.
Wayne Kinsella (40), The Plaza, Tyrrelstown, originally from Finglas, has pleaded not guilty to the murder of Mr Essalhi (31) in the fields behind the Plaza in Tyrrelstown, Blanchardstown, on January 6th, 2011.
The jury, which had been considering its verdict for one hour and 44 minutes, was sent home for the weekend yesterday and will resume its deliberations in the case on Monday.
Mr Justice Garrett Sheehan has asked the jury of five men and seven women for a unanimous verdict.
He said it was the defence’s case that the prosecution had not established beyond reasonable doubt that Mr Kinsella killed Mr Essalhi.
Mr Justice Sheehan also told the jurors that the reliability of any of the witnesses was entirely a matter for them and that they could rely on all or any part of their evidence.
