Ireland have fallen to their sixth successive defeat at the women's hockey World Cup against Japan.
The 1-0 reverse in Perth, Australia, means Ireland are still seeking their first point of the tournament.
They looked as though they had been successful in their attempts to repel numerous attacks from Japan.
But, five minutes from the end, Japanese captain Keiko Miura's low drag flick from a penalty corner beat goalkeeper Tara Browne.
