The Israeli ambassador to Ireland, Mr Zvi Gabay, expressed his country's deep regret at the death of Pte Kedian.
"I was very sorry to hear about the tragic events that caused the loss of human life of an Irish soldier," Mr Gabay said yesterday. "We would like to express our deepest sympathy to the family of the bereaved soldier."
The ambassador also said he wished for a speedy recovery for the injured soldiers.
