The Israel Football Association is planning an audacious bid to host the country?s Euro 2004 qualifiers at Tottenham Hotspur's White Hart Lane ground in London.
Association chief Gavri Levi has said the current ban on hosting competitive international and European club matches on home soil due to security fears would hit the IFA hard.
Champions League hopefuls Maccabi Haifa are set to play their opening "home" fixture of the competition in Cyprus tomorrow and the loss of revenue to the national team could be up to #1.3 million sterling.
But Levi is hoping that an agreement with Tottenham would help the IFA recoup their projected losses.
"Even though we have been offered to host our qualifiers in Romania or Ukraine, we are currently considering playing at White Hart Lane," Levi said.
"The reason behind the idea to host matches in London is to try and salvage some income which we can't even dream of in eastern European countries".
