The Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children has announced the appointment of Mr Paul Gilligan as chief executive, replacing Mr Cian O Tighearnaigh.
A clinical psychologist and graduate of UCD, Mr Gilligan has been acting chief executive for the past six months after the launch of a garda investigation into the society's finances. He was director of services for six years.
