The case against an Irishman charged in relation to the death of his wife is expected to be adjourned for a week when he comes before a court in California today.

Mr Colman Bowers, from Dublin, and a senior executive with a US computer company, was taken into custody two weeks ago following the death of his wife, Ms Gina McCormack, from Greystones, Co Wicklow. Ms McCormack's body was returned to Ireland for burial last week. The couple's three children attended the funeral. There is no indication so far that the charge of murder with "special circumstances", which carries the death penalty, will be brought against Mr Bowers. The couple emigrated to America about 12 years ago and were living in Santa Clara at the time of Ms McCormack's death by stabbing.
