An Irish woman killed in a road accident in southern Spain yesterday has been named.

An Irish woman killed in a road accident in southern Spain yesterday has been named.

Ms Patricia Haughey (52), a businesswoman from Waterford

died when a van travelling on the wrong side of the road crashed into the taxi in which she was a passenger in the tourist town, Fuengirolla, in the Costa Del Sol.

Ms Haughey, who also worked for AWARE, was travelling with three companions, also understood to be from Waterford. The three other women were injured, one seriously.

It is believed the women were travelling to the airport to return home after their holiday.
