Queen reported to police for not wearing a seatbelt

West Yorkshire Police received a 999 call over royal journey

Queen Elizabeth has been reported to the West Yorkshire Police for not wearing a seatbelt as she travelled to the State Opening of Parliament in her official car on Wednesday.

West Yorkshire Police said they received a 999 call about the royal journey which the queen shared with Prince Charles, as they travelled through London on the way to Westminster from Buckingham Palace.

Confirming the call in a tweet, West Yorkshire Police said the call was not an emergency and should not have been made to 999.

“999 call received reporting that the Queen isn’t wearing a seatbelt. #not999 #notevenwestyorkshire,” the tweet read.
