Dublin’s Amiens Street reopens after truck hits railway bridge

Trains back up and running but knock-on delays persisi

Amiens Street in Dublin has reopened after a truck hit a railway bridge on Friday afternoon.

Road traffic has resumed in both directions and delays have eased. Rail traffic is still subject to knock-on delays affecting Dart and commuter services.

The truck struck the bridge at Amiens Street near Connolly station prompting Iarnród Éireann to suspend services between Tara Street and Connolly.

Dublin Fire Brigade said fire engines from Tara Street fire station and a rescue tender from Phibsborough were at the scene, while AA Roadwatch reported that Amiens Street had been blocked in both directions for a time near the Sheriff Street lower junction.
