NA NÓG: An Taoiseach, Minister Roderic O'Gorman, Chris Hadfield, Niall Horan, Denise Chaila and Picture This were among the contributors at the Comhairle na nÓg National Showcase 2020. In what has been a year like no other, Comhairle na nÓg members experienced a Showcase like no other. The showcase, which took place as a live virtual event on December 5th, is a biannual event that celebrates the work of the members of Comhairle na nÓg. While the event could not take place in a single space this year, over 600 young people from all around the country came together at a virtual event to celebrate their achievements and be inspired by a host of speakers and entertainers. This special interactive event, which was hosted by Doireann Garrihy, showcased the tremendous work of each of the 31 Comhairle na nÓg groups through a specially commissioned video. In the absence of a Brexit deal, the UK and the EU would move from almost seamless trade in many areas to trading on standard terms set by the World Trade Organization. This could see European tariffs of 37.5 per cent imposed on UK exports of dairy products to the continent, 11.5 per cent on clothes, 22 per cent on vans and trucks and 10 per cent on cars.
