Animal charity investigating video of pony being ridden through Cabra bar

Footage shows customers cheering as horse is ridden by man through north Dublin pub

An incident where a pony was ridden through a packed pub is being investigated by the Dublin Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (DSPCA).

The footage was captured on a mobile phone and shows a man riding the pony through the Cabra House pub also known as the Oasis pub in the north inner-city.

He is cheered on by customers before exiting on to Fassaugh Avenue.

DSPCA spokeswoman Gillian Bird said she was trying to find when the footage was shot.

“It’s not a good environment for a horse at all,” she said.

“Horses need to be treated with respect and cared for. In an environment like this, the potential for the animal or for people to be hurt is considerable.”
