Details of what was described as “one of the biggest shows RTÉ has ever done” were announced in Dublin yesterday.
The Voice of Ireland, a singing talent show which has been replicated in 25 countries as The Voice, will air in the new year.
Produced by Screentime Shinawil, the Irish Voicewill be hosted by Kathryn Thomas and relative newcomer to Irish TV, Eoghan McDermott.
The show is different to others, as at initial auditions judges cannot see entrants and can only hear them. The judges, four well-known professional singers, choose the contestant they want to mentor at these auditions. If more than one judge wants the same contestant, they must convince the contestant to choose them.
