United Nations - The UN Security Council yesterday decided to maintain UN sanctions against Iraq, after reviewing the almost eight year-old embargo in a tense and prolonged debate. British ambassador Sir John Weston told reporters just before the decision was taken by the Council at a six-monthly review, that while progress had been noted in dismantling Iraq's nuclear arsenal, more accounting was needed on Iraqi biological and chemical arms.
