Gardai investigating the circulation of a pornographic image of a schoolgirl sent by camera phone, have turned their attention to Dublin.

Computer software enabled the authorities, with the aid of mobile phone companies, to enhance the crest on the girl's jumper and identify it as that of a Dublin school.

It was initially thought that the image, which was sent to hundreds of people in the Munster area, was of a Cork schoolgirl from Glanmire but she was ruled out of the inquiry after Gardai questioned her and her parents.

A number of other girls were subsequently questioned but Gardai made no further progress.

Gardai are equally keen to locate the person, or persons, responsible for circulating the image and warned last week that the forwarding of the photo could result in prosecution.
