Massacre families clear legal hurdle

AMSTERDAM- Families of Srebrenica massacre victims have cleared a legal hurdle in their lawsuit against the Dutch state and the United Nations, which they argue allowed the killing of thousands of Muslims, their lawyers said yesterday.

A court in The Hague ruled the case could proceed, dismissing pleas by public prosecutors it should be dropped after the UN invoked its legal immunity. - (Reuters)

Official in Iran cleared of spying

TEHRAN- A former Iranian nuclear negotiator was cleared of spying for the West yesterday in a verdict that appeared to vindicate opponents of Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

It was announced that Hossein Mousavian had been acquitted of espionage and possessing classified documents. - (Guardian service)

Drug case against Pfizer adjourned

ABUJA - A Nigerian court has adjourned civil and criminal cases brought by the federal government against US drugmaker Pfizer. The federal government and the state of Kano are suing Pfizer for $8.5 billion and pressing criminal charges over the 1996 testing of the drug Trovan on children. - (Reuters)
