Ahern opens suites for dispute resolution
Minister for Justice Dermot Ahern has officially opened dedicated mediation and alternative dispute resolution suites. Ormond Meetings Rooms are on Ormond Quay, close to the Four Courts.
Dr Karl Mackie,chief executive of the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution, said mediation was becoming a more important part of dispute resolution worldwide.

TCD employment litigation course
A six-week extra mural course in employment litigation will be held in Trinity College Dublin from February 4th to March 11th.
Directed by barrister Des Ryan, lecturer in employment litigation on the master's in law degree programme at Trinity College, the lecturers includes senior counsel, solicitors, barristers and academic employment law specialists.
The course will be delivered in weekly two-hour sessions over six evenings between February and March 2010. It costs €850 and carries 12 CPD points.

First Law, Justis publishing merge
Dr Eamonn Hall will be the guest speaker at the launch next Thursday of the transfer of the First Law case law and legal information website to Justis Publishing's online legal library.
