Gardaí have found what are believed to be human remains in a Co Sligo lake.
The remains were taken from Lough Gill this morning during searches of the area.
Analysis and identification will take some time and hit has not yet been established if the remains are human, a Garda spokesman said.
However, the spokesman confirmed that the discovery was made by teams searching for missing Co teenager Melissa Mahon, who was 15 went she went missing in September 2006.
