Homes evacuated as pipe-bomb defused in Derry

A pipe-bomb has been defused in the front garden of a house in Derry today.

The device was found at Shearwater Way on the Clooney estate, which is in the Waterside area of the city.

Neighbouring houses were evacuated for several hours while army bomb disposal experts made safe the device.

Yesterday, a similar device was defused in the rear garden of a Catholic-owned home in the same street.
