A home-made bomb that was found hidden under the Belfast-Dublin railway line has been made safe.

A home-made bomb that was found hidden under the Belfast-Dublin railway line has been made safe.

A British army technical unit defused the bomb, described by a PSNI spokesman as "an improvised explosive device", this evening.

The bomb, which contained an estimated 35 kilos of explosives, was found under the line near Kileen Bridge, south of Newry.
