British police are hunting a gang who escaped with millions of dollars during a raid on a security van at London's Heathrow Airport.
Scotland Yard refuse to reveal exactly how much money had been taken during the raid at a secure area of the airport.
But it is understood that $5 million (͠5.5 million) flown into Heathrow on a jet from Bahrain and bound for New York's JFK airport was stolen.
The driver of a British Airways security van was stopped by at least two robbers and pulled from the vehicle, thrown to the ground and had his hands bound. They then put the cash into another British Airways van and escaped undetected from the scene.
The second van was later found burnt out in the Feltham area, near Heathrow. There was no trace of the cash or the robbers.
The driver was treated at a west London hospital for shock and minor injuries to his wrists.
A Scotland Yard spokeswoman said: "At this early stage of the inquiry we are trying to establish the exact circumstances of the robbery. No firearms were seen. The suspect vehicle was later found burnt out".
