US actor to run Meath health workshops
American actor Lindsay Wagner is in Ireland this month to lead two weekend workshops entitled Quiet The Mind and Open the Heart.
The workshops aim to help participants access a natural sense of peace and joy and realise that many every day habits often have a negative impact on others and ourselves. They will be held in Bellinter House, Navan, Co Meath on June 13th and 14th and June 20th and 21st. They cost €195 per weekend workshop. Mobility equipment
This year’s Access and Mobility Exhibition is on Friday and Saturday, June 19th and 20th in the Main Hall, RDS, Ballsbridge, Dublin. Now in its seventh year, the exhibition has a vast range of appliances and adapted products for people with disabilities. These include zero gravity chairs, bathroom and kitchen aids, adapted scooters and vehicle conversions. Opening hours 10am to 5pm each day. Admission free. See www.accessandmobility.ie
Fatigue treatment
Current treatment of ME/ Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) is the theme of a public lecture on Thursday, June 18th at 7.45pm in the Mount Herbert Hotel, Herbert Road, Dublin 4. The lecture will be given by Irish born and New York based Dr Enlander who is the author of the CFS Handbook (www.enlander.ie) and editor of forthcoming medical journal Fatigue which is due to be first published in 2010. Fit in the park
Women keen to remain fit (or get even fitter) following last week’s mini marathon might be interested in joining one of the fitsquad training sessions for men and women currently held in public parks in Dublin. These group sessions of adult outdoor training are run by personal trainers and include running, circuit training, weights, toning and boxercise.
