Calling people who have had a stroke
Researchers at Trinity College Dublin (TCD) are interested in speaking to people who have had a stroke but are able to walk with or without a walking stick. The project is aimed at developing community-based exercise programmes.

Workshops in Chinese medicine
Medical Qigong is made up of various sequences of movements that form the physical exercise dimension of Chinese medicine. Those interested in learning the popular form, Soaring Crane Qigong, can attend workshops in Wilton, Cork city on May 23rd and 24th, or in Fionnuisce, Bandon, Co Cork on June 13th and 14th. Free health screenings
Visitors to the over-50s show in City Hall, Cork this weekend can avail of free health screenings for cholesterol, vision, blood pressure and lung function. Healing with focus on early life
Healing From Within will take place from May 22nd to 24th in the Burren Holistic Centre, Co Clare. Using meditation, art, movement and dream work, participants will explore how early life experiences are played out in their adult lives. Cost €350 which includes meals, accommodation and tuition. Warning on drugs on the internet
The Irish Medicines Board (IMB) has warned people not to purchase anti-viral medications for the treatment of the H1N1 influenza A virus from unauthorised sources such as the internet.
Anti-viral medicines such as Tamiflu and Relenza should be purchased only from registered medical practitioners.
