Kate Brennan, actress
Do you think you have a healthy lifestyle?
I’d say I do half the time. I try to eat healthily but I have a terrible sweet tooth. I sometimes go through phases where I fall off the wagon of eating healthily but it doesn’t last too long.
How often do you exercise?
I’m not a gym person. I used to teach dance and that was my exercise though I don’t do that any more due to my acting. I’d have to say dancing in a club would be the only dancing I’m doing now.
Do you get your five a day?
I’ve recently made it a point to get my five a day and I’ve found it really makes a difference to my health levels. I’d have fruit in the morning and cereal and during the day I’d try to eat raw vegetables. I think once I get my five a day in, I can have a cake or chocolate.
Do you worry?
I suppose I do, but I try to be conscious of it and instead of wasting the energy on worry, I put it into solving the problem. The career I’m in, you always have the worry of what’s your next gig but I’m lucky enough in that something usually comes up.
What do you do to relax?
I love music, and I write music. When I have time off, I love doing that. Also, I’m a huge film and TV addict. Once I’m working hard at something, I’ve no guilt about spending my day off vegging out.
What’s your unhealthiest habit?
Most definitely smoking. I gave up before for two years but it has started to creep back now so I want to make an effort to give that up. And I eat too much chocolate. When you are working long hours in the theatre, chocolate is a great thing to keep energy levels up.
