Do you think you have a healthy lifestyle?

I’d say no. Being in a band, it’s a crazy lifestyle. You’ve late nights, you’re travelling long journeys and you do tend to eat junk food. You’re sleeping and eating at irregular times and not getting enough exercise.

How often do you exercise?

I’m taking part in the Flora Women’s Mini Marathon in June so in the past few months I’ve been trying to organise myself to get 30-40 minutes a day to walk or jog. I’m feeling much the better for it.

Do you get your five a day?

I don’t. I do love grapes and I’d buy myself a punnet and eat every one of them, but I have a greater love for chocolate. My mother is 91 in September though and she’s eating chocolate and creamy cakes all her life and she is still going well.

Do you worry?

In this job, you’re always on call. The phone can ring at any time so it’s hard to switch off. But I have a great net around me and they are always there to support me. When you have a love around you, it keeps you going. My biggest worry would be just that everything would go well for my son and daughter and my husband. I worry about everybody else except me.

What do you do to relax?

I love to go to an adoration chapel that we have in Middleton. I go down there some nights we are home and I just find it very relaxing. There’s complete peace. You just totally switch off. There is such a beautiful silence there. It gives me a chance to reflect on my own life and pray to God and thank him for the good things in our lives.

What’s your unhealthiest habit?

Staying up and watching late night TV. It’s such an unhealthy thing to do because when you go to bed, your mind is still running and it takes you a while to come down and you’re tired the next day.
