The 11th UCD Fashion Show "A Night with the Stars" will be held on Wednesday and Thursday in the Library, RDS, Dublin, at 8 p.m. All proceeds from the shows will go to the Simon Community to help Dublin's homeless. Students will model clothes by student designers from the NCAD and the Grafton Academy. Tickets at £10 are available in the Arts Block, UCD, Belfield, Dublin 4, and by credit card on (01) 2877506.

To celebrate the 10th birthday of Childline, there will be a fund-raising casino evening with spot prizes, live music, full bar and food in Renards nightclub, South Frederick Street, Dublin, on Wednesday February 25th from 8 p.m. Funds are urgently needed to extend the hours of Childline and to train more volunteers. The Asperger Syndrome Association of Ireland (ASPIRE) is holding a meeting next Saturday for parents of children and adults with special needs at Taney Parish Hall, Dundrum, Co Dublin, from 10 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. Speakers will include Dr David Carey, a psychologist and lecturer in education, Froebel College of Education, Blackrock, and Geraldine Graydon, a parent and PRO for the Attention Deficit/ Hyperactive Disorder Association (AD/HD).

Dr Carey will talk about training programmes to provide information for parents with children of special needs, and to advise on coping skills and legal rights, and Geraldine Graydon will focus on guide- lines for the practical ways in which parents can help. Kate Kelly will give a two-hour introductory workshop on the Alexander Technique in the Galway Arts Centre, Nuns Island, next Saturday at 2.30 p.m. This technique can help people by preventing the build-up of unnecessary tension that causes backache and uneasiness, as well as improve vocal and breathing difficulties. The Centre for Women's Studies, Trinity College, Dublin, hosts the second of four public seminars at lunchtime tomorrow. Ann Broekhoven, chief executive of the Well Woman Centre, will give a talk entitled "The Well Woman Centre: 20 Years On" in Conference Room 2026 in the Arts Block. All are welcome to attend the talk from 1 p.m. to 2.30 p.m.
