Amman - A leader of the Palestinian Hamas Islamic resistance movement, Mr Izzat al-Rushuq, was arrested in Jordan overnight, having been sought by police since a crackdown on the group in August, judicial sources said yesterday.
Mr Rushuq, a member of the Hamas political bureau, went on the run along with the movement's representative in Jordan, Mr Mohamad Nazzal, after Jordanian authorities closed the group's offices in Amman and made a string of arrests.
