Three children were killed and eight wounded when a grenade exploded today in the outskirts of Manila in the Philippines, police said.
They said the grenade, which was found by the children in a backyard in Kaloocan City in the northern outskirts of Manila, exploded and scattered shrapnel all over the area when the children banged it against a concrete wall.
Police said one of the children was declared dead on arrival at hospital and that the others died while having treatment.
