Munich - The German government has offered DM10 billion in compensation to Nazi slave labourers, and a lawyer for the German victims said yesterday the offer was acceptable.
The lawyer, Mr Michael Witti, said the new offer corresponded to what the victims had sought.
"We proposed DM10 billion to [US negotiator Stuart] Eizenstat, and this proposal was accepted," Mr Witti said.
His statement came just after the government confirmed it had agreed to increase its share of the fund from DM3 billion to DM5 billion.
