Guehring PLC is a world leader in coating technology for metal-cutting tools and one of the world’s largest producers of rotating metal cutting tools. The company is to start recruiting immediately. A German engineering firm is to create 50 jobs in Waterford over the next four years.

Guehring PLC is a world leader in coating technology for metal-cutting tools and one of the world’s largest producers of rotating metal cutting tools. The company is to start recruiting immediately.

Tánaiste, Ms Mary Harney said: "The Waterford centre will be in production within a couple of months and will be one of the largest, most sophisticated and modern facilities of its type in the world and will become the Guehring Group’s largest coating centre".

The Waterford Centre will be responsible for coating the full range of Guehring’s standard tools.

Guehring’s products are used in car and airline manufacture, and mechanical engineering. The company’s clients include Boeing, Airbus, General Motors, Ford, VW, Daimler Chrysler and BMW.
