Gardaí investigating the murder of a homeless man in Tralee on Wednesday have released a man (24) who was arrested yesterday morning.
On Wednesday officers upgraded the investigation into the death of Eddie Joe Clancy (50) from Lohercannon, Tralee, to a murder inquiry after a postmortem revealed he had suffered serious head injuries in an assault in the town at around 2am on Tuesday.
Mr Clancy was discovered lying in a pool of blood by a passerby at Bridge Street, but died later at Kerry General Hospital.
Superintendent Pat Sullivan of Tralee has said that he believes people may have witnessed the assault and has urged them to come forward.
