Gardaí in Dublin investigating the death of a 33-year-old man in the capital last weekend have appealed for assistance from members of the public.

Bartlomiej Saczek, a Polish national, was found dead in a car at Dorset Place near the city centre after he had earlier received hospital treatment.

A statement from the Garda press office asked that any person who was in the Talbot Street area of Dublin city last Saturday night between 10.15pm and 10.45pm and who saw a person lying on the ground, and later being removed in an ambulance, to contact gardaí at Store Street.

"Mr Saczek was taken to the Mater Hospital for treatment and was later found dead in a car on Sunday morning at Dorset Place, Dublin 1," the statement said.
