Gardaí believe they have broken up a stolen car ring after raiding a premises in Co Kildare yesterday.

Gardaí believe they have broken up a stolen car ring after raiding a premises in Co Kildare yesterday.

One man was arrested in the operation, which resulted in the seizure of five stolen cars worth €200,000, engines, and documentation. The cars were take from outside houses in Lucan, Leixlip and Blanchardstown.

It is believed the cars were being altered to be given the identities of crashed vehicles in order to sell them on the second-hand car market.

The man was later released and a file was sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
