The Garda has appealed for public assistance after a young woman was attacked while walking home on the southside of Cork early yesterday morning.
The woman - who is in her late 20s - was attacked on the South Douglas Road near the slip road on to the South Link Road between 2.45 a.m. and 3 a.m. The attacker is believed to be a man in his mid to late 20s, 5 ft 6 in, wearing a T-shirt and blue jeans. The woman was taken to hospital for treatment but was later discharged.
Gardai in Togher wish to speak to anyone who was in the South Douglas area between 2.45 a.m. and 3.15 a.m. yesterday morning who may have noticed anything suspicious. They can be contacted on 021962611.
