Gardaí in Limerick have seized cannabis with an estimated street value of €1.5 million.

Gardaí in Limerick have seized cannabis with an estimated street value of €1.5 million.

Detectives said the seizure came as part of a continuing operation targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs.

Gardaí said they stopped two vehicles and searched premises in the Limerick area last night and uncovered the cannabis resin.

Two men said to be in their 30s and 40s were arrested.

They are being detained at Henry Street and Roxboro Road Garda stations under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
