Gardaí and PSNI are today investigating a hijacking of a truck that began in Dundalk in the early hours of this morning.
A lorry driver was attacked by two men while he tried to enter his vehicle at around 1 a.m. this morning in the Ravensdale area of the town. The man was beaten and pulled from his cab.
The lorry, which contained a cargo of furniture, was later found on fire across the Border in Co Down. The vehicle was taken away by PSNI officers for a forensic examination. The lorry driver is not thought to have been seriously injured.
