Gardaí at Ballyshannon, Co. Donegal are appealing for witnesses to a hit and run incident which occurred in the town early yesterday morning.
The incident occurred at Assaroe Road at 3.20am when a small white car collided with an 18 year old female pedestrian.
The car failed to remain at the scene and was found abandoned a short distance away. It has been technically examined by investigating Gardai.
The injured woman was seriously injured and was removed to Sligo General Hospital.
