A Dublin garage-owner yesterday offered the free use of a car to Mr Gerard McColgan, one of the four members of a Co Sligo family engaged in a High Court action arising out of sexual and physical abuse inflicted by their father.
Mr Owen Reddy of Finn Reddy Motors, Kilmainham, Dublin, made the offer for the duration of the case after hearing reports that Mr McColgan's car had been stolen near the Four Courts on Thursday.
The car carried a British registration number, and because of restrictions on his British car insurance, he is not covered for theft in the Republic.
