Mr Philpott was originally from Banteer but was living in Coolcuslough, Killarney, Co Kerry. He is survived by his wife Sheila and daughters Majella and Antoinette.
His removal took place on Saturday evening from O’Shea’s funeral home in Killarney to St Mary’s Cathedral.
