A man charged in relation to a forgery amounting to more than £192,000 had his case adjourned for two weeks when he appeared before Dundalk District Court yesterday. Sgt John Finan, of the Garda Bureau of Fraud Investigation, gave evidence of arresting Mr James Rogers (40), of Bishops Court, Dundalk. In reply to the charges, Mr Rogers had replied: "Not guilty".

The charges relate to forging documents, uttering forged documents and obtaining by forgery or fraud monies ranging from £500 to £78,500. There was also a charge of fraudulent conversion and one of false pretences. The monies were allegedly obtained at various banks in the State on dates unknown from 1990 to 1995.
