Former employees at the Irish Glass Bottle Company, (IGB), are taking part in a protest outside the GPO on O'Connell Street in Dublin.

The rally is being held to support 375 former workers of the Irish Glass Bottle plant in Ringsend, Dublin, whose jobs have been lost due to the closure of the plant by Ardagh Glass.
Mr Gerry Lynch, Branch Secretary of SIPTU, which represents the majority of workers at the plant said last night that workers at IGB accepted proposals put forward by the Labour Court on the realisation of fixed assets from the plant.
The agreement brokered by the Labour Court guarantees that the proceeds of the sale of the company's realisable stock - estimated to be worth €12 million - will be held in a special bank account to facilitate a trust fund for employees
However, the dispute continues over management's rejection of the redundancy package brokered by the Labour Court. The Court recommended a payment of five weeks for every year worked.
Mr Lynch said: "We will engage with any third party in an effort to reach a satisfactory outcome for the workers in IGB, but we will not be bullied into accepting anything less than the full terms of the Labour Court recommendation,"
