Thousands of revellers ran through the narrow streets of Pamplona this morning in the first running of the bulls of this year’s San Fermin fiesta.
The runners raced to keep ahead of the fighting bulls along the 850 metre course from a holding pen to the town’s bull ring.
Several of the runners were knocked to the ground and some were trampled on by the bulls but there no immediate reports of runners being gored.
Red Cross workers told National Spanish Television they had no reports of serious injuries.
