Fines reduced over false motor discs

Wicklow Circuit Court has been told of a man who printed false insurance, tax and NCT discs for his car off his laptop.

Peter Breen (41), The Square, Ashford, was appealing the severity of the €2,750 fines and three-year driving disqualification imposed at Bray District Court in April.

Fines of €750 imposed in the District Court, on each of the three offences of having false discs on his car last November, were reduced by Judge Michael O’Shea to €250 in each case. The judge also reduced the fine of €350, in respect of not having a valid insurance, to a fine of €250.
